The Perihelion Telecom team is headed up by two widely experienced professionals with extensive knowledge of the software and telecommunications industries.

Tim King

Perihelion Telecom was founded by Dr Tim King (Chairman and CTO). Tim gained his PhD in Computer Science from Cambridge in 1979, went on to write the operating system for the Commodore Amiga, and founded Perihelion in 1986. He later founded and became CEO of UK Online, now owned by Sky. As Chairman and Chief Technical Officer, Tim continues to lead development of the Voice Server and associated services

Little known fact: Tim has worked at the Department of Social Anthropology at Cambridge University.

 

 

Cherise EmersonCherise Emerson (CEO) has a long history of working in the telecommunications industry. From early days in British Telecom she went on to become Chief Information Officer of WorldCom International Inc., and left there to join an international start-up –  Storm Telecommunications Ltd.  As CIO at this joint venture, launched by Telenor, Norway’s’ national telecoms carrier, she was part of the senior team that successfully concluded the highest-value management buyout in UK telecoms history. Cherise is the driving force behind the Perihelion Voice Server.

Little known fact: CJ Emerson is also an acclaimed crime writer – her latest novel, Objects of Desire, was shortlisted by the Crimewriters’ Association for an award in 2007.
