Globally connected
With the PBX systems that we supply, you can make a call via a SIP phone which looks like a normal phone but which connects over the office LAN.
But you can also use a modern mobile with SIP capability such as one of the Nokia E series which can make "internet calls" over a WiFi connection. So you could be in a coffee shop in Seattle offering WiFi access or working temporarily in India - so long as you have an Internet connection you have free calls back to the office.
And this really is your phone. People can call it by a standard extension number, it can have incoming calls routed to it and best of all it's like being in the office. Just dial an extension as if you were in the office, or dial an outside line and the call is made from the office lines. Great for avoiding massive mobile phone roaming charges.
You can also use a soft phone, which is a software program running on your laptop or PDA. There's even one for the Applie iPhone and iTouch. You'll need a pair of headphones and attached microphone for the best ease of use. This soft phone also connects over the LAN to the PBX. These days most people working away want to find themselves connected so that they can check their email - this method also means that your can take your phone with you.
